South Beaver Search and Rescue
Team
Mission Statement
To
provide a volunteer search and rescue (SAR) team that will assist any agency when requested by Beaver County Emergency Services
as an additional resource to search for missing persons and/or criminal evidence.
Goals and Objectives
1.
Operate under the direction of BCSAR as a command and control element managing multiple teams as part of a large area SAR
operation, or as a team performing search and rescue in a specific area as part of a SAR when minimal personnel resources
are requested.
2.
Supplement existing resources; BCSAR is not a replacement for local public safety resources.
3.
Work as an operational unit within the Incident Command System structure and be supported logistically. We will not operate
in a stand-alone, self-sufficient mode.
4.
Perform additional duties/missions that may be developed.
Missions
with which the team may assist are, but not limited to:
Searching for missing persons.
•
Assisting with searches of specific assigned areas (downed aircraft, crime scenes, etc.).
BCSAR
will provide team equipment, supplies and initial training. Team members will be responsible for individual or unique equipment.
Identification of BCSAR equipment and individuals’ equipment will be determined during the implementation process.
